Group Classes
Laval Musique offers several types of group classes for beginners of all ages.

Guitar class
Guitar group lessons for beginners are offered in small groups. This is available online or in-person. Learn the basics of guitar playing: open position, basic chord progressions, strumming patterns, notes.
45 min / week, 15 week session

Our guitar groups are suggested for students who like to work as part of a team. Social interaction helps these students to find and stay motivation in a friendly environment. The class is set as a guitar workshop where each student brings his/her own instrument each week. Students can choose to play acoustic or electric guitar. Students in this class progress towards the next level group or private lessons. This group class is for beginners only.

- 7-12 yrs SATURDAYS 2:00 pm - **New semester begins September 9
Piano class
Come learn your note patterns on the keyboards. Become aware of proper posture and hand/arm/finger position. We teach note reading, exercices and fun, easy musical pieces.
45 min / week, 15 week session
Our piano group lessons are suggested for students who like to work as part of a team. Social interaction helps these students to find and stay motivation in a friendly environment. Each class is 45 minutes long with a maximum of 6 students per group. In class you will find 6 digital pianos, one per student. Students in this class progress towards the next level group or private lessons. This group class is for beginners only.

Violin class
Learn to recognize and play open strings. Apprenez à reconnaître et jouer les cordes ouvertes. Use pizzicato and bowing techniques. Become aware of posture, arm, hand and finger position. We teach note reading, exercices and fun, easy musical pieces.
45 min / week, 15 week session

Combo class
These classes are offered as a surplus to private lessons. In small groups, students apply their knowledge of note reading and listening to play in a combo setting (a minimum of 3 different instruments). Students learn to improve their skills by working as a group and having fun making music with others. Students explore Pop and Rock styles.
These classes are available for the following ages:
elementary school levels - every second week SATURDAY 3 pm - starting September 9
secondary school level - every second week SATURDAY 3 pm - starting September 16
Vocal Ensemble
These courses are offered in addition to private lessons. In small groups, students apply their singing and listening skills to perform in ensemble formation (minimum of 3 singers required). Students learn to improve their skills by exploring harmonies and choreography while forming great friendships.
